High School Notes: Touchdown Club finalists named
The finalists for the Touchdown Club of Houston’s annual high school football awards have been announced.
The Touchdown Club’s annual awards dinner is at 7 p.m. Dec. 10 at the J.W. Marriott (5150 Westheimer).
The finalists for offensive player of the year are Pearland RB Kasey Carrier, Cypress Falls QB Kolby Gray, Hightower WR Darius Johnson, Friendswood QB Jacob Karam, North Shore TE Barrett Matthews, Cinco Ranch QB Shane Ros, Cypress Ridge QB Russell Shepard, Westbury RB Charles Sims, Pasadena Memorial RB Bo Snelson and Kingwood OL Travis Swanson.
The finalists for defensive player of the year are Cypress Ridge LB Princeton Jackson, Hightower DB Dele Junaid, Eisenhower DB Craig Loston, Woodlands DB Chase Maires, Clear Brook DL Jordan Norfleet, Davis DL Chris Pruitt, North Shore DL Thaddeus Randle, Pearland DB Jarrad Stewart, Texas City LB Glenn Sumney and Cinco Ranch DL Devin Williams.
The finalists for coach of the year are Chuck Arnold (Davis), Don Clayton (Cinco Ranch), Shane Hallmark (Hightower), Tony Heath (Pearland), David Jones (Cypress Woods), Paul Lanier (Clear Brook), Greg McCaig (Cypress Creek), Ray Seals (Madison), David Smith (Klein Oak), Steve Van Meter (Friendswood).
