Wildcats take eighth at regional golf

Two Cy-Fair ISD boys’ golf teams and two individual qualifiers finished their seasons at the Region II-5A Golf Championships, held last week at Twin Rivers Golf Course in Waco, par 72.
Cy Woods High School placed eighth out of 16 teams with a two-day score of 628. Wildcat golfers who combined for that score are Luke Sheehan (77-75 – 152), J.J. Black (76-81 – 157), Bryce Cooper (77-85 – 162), Taylor Wood (81-81 – 162) and Craig Zietsman (76-90 – 166).
Cy Creek High School came in 12th place, shooting a 654. Cougar golfers who combined for that score are Matt Dunn (79-80 – 159), Brent Battson (80-81 – 161), Travis Adams (81-81 – 162), Bryant McKenzie (82-93 – 175) and Mark Lupton (91-90 – 181).

Two Cy-Fair ISD boys’ golf teams and two individual medalists qualified for the Region II-5A Golf Tournament at the District 15-5A Championships, held last week at Longwood Golf Course.
Cy Woods won the district championship with a two-day score of 631.
Wildcat golfers who made up the team score were Luke Sheehan (75-82 – 157), Bryce Cooper (76-79 – 155), Taylor Wood (77-86 – 163), JJ Black
(79-83 – 162) and Craig Zietsman (83-80 – 163).
Cy Creek placed second after shooting a two-day score of 646. |
