Coach McCaig is a graduate of Louisiana State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education and a minor in Social Studies. Coach McCaig has been coaching for 27 years. He will serve as Head Football Coach and Offensive Coordinator for the Cougars for the upcoming season.
Previous coaching stops for Coach McCaig include Bellaire High School and Catholic High School in Baton Rouge. In Texas, Coach McCaig has coached at Memorial High School in Houston, Langham Creek High School and has served as Head Coach at Giddings High School and Stratford High School. This will be Coach McCaig’s 15th year as a Head Coach and his 10th as the Head Coach of the Cougars. Coach McCaig’s Cougars have won 4 district championships with the first coming in 2005 and then three in a row starting from 2008 to 2010. The Cougars have advanced to the third round of the playoffs as recently as 2010.
Coach McCaig has been married for 23 years to his wife Sheri, the principal at Goodson Middle School in CFISD. They have two sons, Steven, 22, who attends Texas State University and played for the Cougars and Matthew, 17, who is a senior at CCHS and currently a member of the Varsity Football Team.

Coach Alexander is a graduate of Howard Payne University with a B.A. in English Language Arts and Reading and a minor in Exercise and Sport Science. Coach Alexander is in her seventh year of teaching and coaching and her third year as Head Girls’ Basketball Coach and fourth year at Cypress Creek.
Prior to coming to Cypress Creek, Coach Alexander played shooting guard for the HPU Women’s Basketball Team. Upon graduation, she spent her first two years at Bastrop High School as the freshman girls’ basketball coach and varsity assistant softball coach. Her next stop was at Madison High School (San Antonio) where she was the freshman girls’ basketball coach and assistant softball coach for one year.

Coach Beech enters his fourth year as a Cy-Creek coach. He will be coaching the junior varsity silver team as an assistant offensive line coach and will be an assistant track coach in the spring.
He and his wife Jenni have been married 7 years and have two girls, Shelby (11) and Cheyanne (7).
Coach Buley has been teaching and coaching for 20 years. It continues to be his calling and passion. He teaches freshman English and is the head wrestling coach here at Cy Creek. Coach Buley is also an accomplished guitar player and a Bronze Palm Eagle Scout.
Coach Buley is from Seaford, New York, a small town on the south shore of Long Island. He is from a big, close family and had a wonderful upbringing. Coach Buley earned his Bachelor's degree in English with a minor in psychology from Springfield College in Massachusetts and his master's in Education from Adelphi University in New York. He moved to Texas in 1993, met the girl of his dreams in his wife Elena; they were married in June of 1996. They have two children, Ben (13) and Sam (11) and two dogs, Patch and Max. Go Cougars!!!
Coach Chandler started swimming year round at age 5 and swam competitively until 20. Jeff graduated from Tokay High School in Lodi California where he was a three sport Varsity Letterman for 3 years in Water Polo, Wrestling and Swimming. He earned All-American status his senior year in water polo as well as League M.V.P. and 1st Team All-Section. Coach Chandler graduated from Modesto Junior College with his A.A. At Modesto, he earned Water Polo and Swimming All-American honors in both years of attendance. He is one of two 4 time All-Americans in school history allowing him to be enshrined in the Modesto Junior College Athletic Hall of Fame. Coach Chandler graduated from California State University Stanislaus with a B.S. in Geography.
Coach Chandler started coaching after his stint in Modesto, returning to his alma mata coaching J.V. Water Polo and Swimming winning titles in four straight years. He was named the Girls Head Coach from Water Polo and Swimming, where he turned out several All-Americans. He then took some time off from coaching to finish his degree. Coach Chandler returned to coaching as an assistant at the University of Pacific in Stockton California. He coached as an assistant for both Men’s and Women’s teams and was the local water polo club developmental coach. He then returned to Tokay High School as the Head Water Polo and Swimming Coach and taught Life Skills for the Special Education Department.
Coach Chandler moved to Texas in 2007 to become the Cy Creek High School Swimming and Water Polo Coach. His parents Charles and Elaine live in Arizona and are both retired teachers. His younger brother, Jess and wife, Jennifer have two beautiful girls Harley (9) and Riley (7).

Coach Combs attended LaPorte HS and is a graduate of University of Louisiana (Rajun Cajuns) with a B.A. in General Studies and a minor in English/Reading. Prior to teaching, Coach Combs played college volleyball for Lee College as a freshmen and sophomore. There she competed at nationals both years and had a finishing record of 90-5. Coach Comb’s team was 2nd in the nation and she was ranked #1 setter in Texas and #2 setter in the nation. She also took and still has all of the setting records at Lee College. After completing her junior college experience, she continued on at the University of Louisiana. As a Rajun Cajun, she geared her academics towards becoming a classroom teacher and coach. Upon graduation, she was given the assistant volleyball coaching position at Cy-Woods and helped lead them to a state appearance.
Coach Combs continued coaching at Woods for 6 years and then was given the Cy Creek job in 2011. This will now be her 2nd year as a Cougar and she looks forward to another phenomenal year!

Coach Holloway is the Varsity Offensive Line coach and Head Girls’ Track coach. This is Coach Holloway’s twelfth year teaching and coaching, and the first year at Cy-Creek. He has previously worked at Robinson, Marlin, and Woodville High Schools.

Coach Kight has coached for 37 years. Coach Kight has coached in Clear Creek ISD, Spring ISD, and Cy-Fair ISD. He opened Westfield H.S. as the Varsity Boys Basketball coach and spent 6 years at that position. He left coaching for four years, then returned in 1991 as the Varsity Softball coach at Cy-Creek. This is currently his 22nd year at Creek. He also coached Freshman Volleyball, and Girls JV Basketball.
Coach Marks is beginning his 31st year at Cypress Creek and his 40th year as a coach. This year he will coach Freshman Football and Freshman/Sophomore Baseball.
Coach Marks is a graduate of the University of Houston with B.S. and M.Ed. degrees. He and his wife Lynda have been married 44 years. His family also includes a new puppy named “Babe”.

Coach McCollum is in his sixth year at Cypress Creek after coaching four years at Terry High School. Coach McCollum serves as the head baseball coach. He will be teaching US History.
Coach McCollum graduated from Texas A&M University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree.
Coach McCollum has been married to his wonderful wife, Christy, for 13 years and they have four children, Cooper (10), Cash (6), Reagan (4) and Rylee (1).
Coach Mueller grew up in the Cypress area and is a graduate of Millsap Elementary, Arnold Junior High and Cy-Fair High School (class of ’97). He played basketball and competed in track & field all 4 years for the Bobcats. As a high jumper, Coach Mueller won District, Region, and was a State Champion junior year. As a senior, he repeated as District and Regional Champion and came in second at state. Senior year, he set a personal record, Cy-Fair High School record, and Cy-Fair I.S.D. record by jumping a height of 7’ 0 ½”.
After graduation, Coach Mueller attended the University of Houston on a track & field scholarship. While competing for the Cougars, he became a 5-time high jump champion winning the Conference USA Indoor Championship in 1999, 2000, and 2001 as well as the Outdoor Conference USA Championship in 1999 and 2000. In 2000, he was an All-American placing 10th of 22 jumpers at the NCAA Championships at Duke University. Being an Olympic year, he set a personal record jumping 7’ 3 ¾” (2.23meters) and just missed qualifying for the U.S. Olympic Trials by 2 centimeters (2.25meters). He has the 4th highest jump in school history and finished up his education at the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology- Movement & Sport Studies with a minor in History.
Once his collegiate eligibility was through, his athletic endeavors led him towards competing in triathlons. While placing high in his age group as well as in the over-all standings, he raced anywhere from the short fast sprint races leading up to finishing the half-ironman distance in 5hr48min. He still enjoys swimming, cycling, running as well as lifting weights.
Since the beginning of his collegiate years, Coach Mueller’s interest in training and pushing the limits of the human body helped guide him into the profession of teaching and coaching. Coach Mueller has been teaching for 10 years and has coached cross country, football, basketball and track & field at the middle school and high school level. As a coach, his attention has always been on running and the jumping events. This is his first year at Cy-Creek High School and he is the head boys/girls cross country coach, asst. track & field coach and teaching sophomore World History.

Coach O'Dear begins his fourth year at Cy-Creek High School. Coach O'Dear is originally from Iowa, and attended Iowa State University, where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise and Sports Science with a minor in Coaching. He was the assistant varsity coach at Ames High School during his last two years at Iowa State. When arriving in Texas, Coach O'Dear was the assistant varsity coach at MacArthur High School for two years before becoming the head boys’ coach at George Bush High School. In the second season at Bush, Coach O'Dear led the Broncos to the school's first playoff run, and also received District 20 5-A's "Coach of the Year". Coach O'Dear spent four years at George Bush High School before going to Katy Taylor High School for a year in 2005-06. He spent three years as the head soccer coach at Cy-Falls High School. Coach O'Dear completed his USSF National "C" license, and will be pursuing more soccer education in the future. Coach Steely is the freshman and JV tennis coach. Like so many young tennis players she started by playing NWYTA and played varsity tennis at Cypress Creek all 4 years of high school. She continued playing intramural tennis in college at Stephen F. Austin State University. She taught science and coached tennis at Knox Middle School in Conroe from 1998 – 2000. In 2000 she moved back to CFISD and taught science at Labay Middle School from 2000-2007. In 2007 she came to Cypress Creek to teach Biology and Anatomy/Physiology. Coach Vacek is in his 32nd year in education, teaching American History, World History, Government, Economics, Health, and Physical Education. All but three years in his career have been in history and is very honored to be in the profession. In addition to his B.S. degree in History, he also holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration. He has taught in five other school districts beginning with Katy I.S.D. in 1981. Mr. Vacek is proud to acknowledge the fact that 16 of his 32 years have been at Cypress Creek High School and all but one year teaching World History. Mr. Vacek is most often addressed as Coach Vacek, as he is the head track coach and varsity assistant football coach.
